"Everyone thinks they have the best dog. And none of them are wrong." - W.R Purche

It's hard for me to believe sometimes, but this stunning creature spent the first months of his life in a filthy puppy mill. I found him through a website called Petfinder, and went to meet him at his foster home. He had only been with the rescue for a week, and he didn't know much about being a dog. And I knew nothing about caring for a dog. So I signed the paperwork, carried his scruffy butt out to my car, and we were on our way home. It was March 2010, and we drove home in a snow storm. At one point, my car slid on some ice, and he tumbled from the passenger seat to the floor. He looked up at me with his goofy grin, like nothing had happened. From that moment it was clear to me. Dogs are the best of us, and I want to spend my life trying to give back to them what they have given to me.

For me, photography is an artistic expression, but it is also an important tool for spreading the message of animal advocacy. A great picture that shows the animal's personality can be a key tool in catching the eye of a potential adopter. Happy and natural photos of a pet enjoying their life with their new family can go a long way towards convincing people to consider adoption as the obvious choice when they look for their next pet. If you are a rescue group, shelter, foster parent, or any other type of animal supporter, and would like to talk about ways that I can collaborate with you, please get in touch!
